Another trip to Boundary Waters Park

I landed one largemouth bass and lost 2 others. 1 on the Z-Man Green Pumpkin Finesse worm and the other on a Nikko Hellgrammite.

I did meet 2 young men who showed me pictures of 4-5 largemouth (1-2 lbs each) in the previous hour or two. They caught the fish I was intending to catch.. lol. Good for them.. good to see young men in Douglas County, GA taking up fishing and enjoying it.

I landed another Largemouth Bass, but he flipped off and back into the water prior to me taking a picture. I lost a good one (2 lb or so) when he jumped up in the air and shook the hook.

I did try small baits for panfish and did not get any bites.

There are 2 lakes in the park. This is the small lake. Threw a TRD ned rig for a bit, no bites. Talked to a man who has fished there and said the larger lake is deeper and better, so I moved over there.

Threw Hellgramite and TRD with no bites. Switched to small presentation and was much more successful!

Lost 4-5 largemouth bass on the Donkey Tail Jr, Pasture Fire. Did not get the hook set and they came off prior to me landing them. I'm having a hard time setting the hook on these small fish. Need more practice!

I was skunked and so were the others fishing. It's only open for fishing Saturday and Wednesday. I tried bass lures and small creek lures.

Saluda River

Went to Dolly Cooper park on the Saluda River on Monday evening and fished for a couple of hours. Only caught this one fish, but it was the first one of this type I have caught. It's a great park and the river is fabulous.  There are a couple of kayak/canoe launch docks, as seen in the pictures below.

I did try small baits for panfish and did not catch anything on those.
